Waterslide Installation Instructions:
Waterslide decals are not the same as vinyl stickers and each type has its own advantages and disadvantages.
This is an instruction guideline based on the Hayes Paper Company waterslide instruction set.
Before you begin, have on hand: wet paper towel, dry paper towel and bowl with water.
1) Soak Decal – Fill a bowl with room temperature water. Submerge decal in water for 30-40 seconds or until the paper backing can slide easily. CAUTION: only slide the decal a very small amount when testing if it is loose. If the decal rolls over onto itself it may be impossible to separate it from itself. A similar situation can occur with vinyl stickers. Be careful. When the decal begins to slide easily remove the decal with backing from the water.
2) Position the decal – Place decal with backing flush against your project in the desired position. Gently hold the edge of the decal while pulling the white backing from behind the decal. Using a wet finger push out any excess water. You can use a paper towel to press against the decal to force the excess water out from behind the decal as well.
3) Allow decal to dry – Dry naturally, out of direct sunlight for 3 hours.
